Family Housing

If you are married and bringing a family to Cherry Point, perhaps the most important thing on your checklist is housing. The Housing Department is located in building 286, on the corner of 4th and “D” streets.

Cherry Point housing is now privatized – our partner is Atlantic Marine Corps Communities (AMCC). Although we are now under a Public-Private Venture initiative, the application process for housing has not changed. The wait for on-station housing can vary from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the number of people on the wait list, ongoing renovations and planned construction.

Our off-station Housing Referral section is located within the Housing Department in building 286. We coordinate with local property management companies and private owners in maintaining current rental and “For Sale” listings. Contact with this office is required as part of the check-in procedure before any commitment for private housing is made.

Transient Housing:
Cherry Point offers Transient Housing Quarters for those personnel who are traveling on TAD orders. Transient Housing Quarters are open 24/7 for your travel needs.

Staff NCOs and enlisted Marines and Sailors can contact the Transient Enlisted Quarters at 466-3060 to make reservations. Reservations are highly recommended. In order to receive the TAD rate, military members must provide a copy of their orders at the time of check in. If quarters are not available to accommodate TAD personnel, a “certificate of non-availability” must be issued by the TEQ in order for the military member to be authorized to stay out in town. Single rooms for TAD travelers are furnished with phone, cable, full-size bed, microwave, iron/ironing board, and refrigerator. Transient Enlisted Quarters can accommodate non-TAD members and PSC members only on a space-available basis. PCS families can be accommodated up to 30 days in family rooms which include phone, cable, (2) full-size beds, microwave, iron/ironing board, and refrigerator.
