Directorate of Public Works:

The Directorate of Public Works is the agency responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield’s garrison facilities, grounds, and barracks. The directorate supervises the installation’s large land management forestry and its fish and wildlife programs. The DPW is divided into six major divisions: Business Operations/Integration, Engineering Services, Environmental, Housing, Master Planning and Operations & Maintenance Divisions.

DPW, BUSINESS OPERATIONS/
INTEGRATION DIVISION

The Business Operations and Integration Division is responsible for the annual work plan (prioritization and execution); integrated facilities system operation; General Fund Enterprise Business System GFEBS), Installation Status Report for Infrastructure; A-76 Contract quality assurance accounting and audit functions; and DPW Supply/Logistics operation. The DPW Supply/Logistics operation provides issue/turn-in and repair support for UPH Barracks furnishings and appliances. The Hunter Army Airfield location is building 1024; hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at (912) 315-5316. The Fort Stewart location is building 1152; hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 767- 5989/3191. For repair of barracks appliances, call 767-2883. For repair of barracks furniture, call 767-5989/3191.
Government Property Administration oversight is provided to ensure all Government Furnished Equipment/Property issued to the Operations and Maintenance Contractor is accounted for by the Contractor. BOID is also responsible for coordinating DPW support to the Installation and Division for Deployment/Redeployment, Disasters, and Exercises. Crisis Management Team member(s) are provided for staffing of the Emergency Operation Center/Installation Emergency Operation Center during emergencies and disasters. Non-routine requirements (major repairs exceeding service order limits of $2,000 and all new construction) must be submitted to DPW on a Work Order Request (DA Form 4283) either through the DPW Web page http://www.stewart.army.mil/IMA/sites/directorates/DPW/default.asp or hand carried to building 1103 (Stewart) or building 1003 (Hunter). Engineering Division

Engineering Division is responsible for providing professional engineering, project management, architectural expertise and construction administration to the Director of Public Works and Fort Stewart & Hunter Army Airfield in support of the 3d ID and tenant activities for the maintenance, repair and construction of real property facilities. The division provides architectural, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and environmental design services for new construction and upgrades to facilities and infrastructure throughout Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
The division also provides design services for all new buildings including administrative buildings, tactical equipment shops, commercial buildings and housing. The division also handles special structures such as fitness centers, gymnasiums and pools. In addition to building structures, the division is responsible for design and maintenance projects for roads, railroads and airfields to enable the movement of all Soldier deployments. Engineering services provides design and maintenance projects for all tank trails, bridges and ranges to enhance Soldier training.
Other responsibilities include tracking utilities and maintaining geospatial data for the buildings, roads and utilities. Engineering provides specialized post maps for various uses such as safety, construction projects, utilities and grounds maintenance.

Environmental Division

The Environmental Division is responsible for developing and implementing the installation’s environmental programs through compliance with all environmental laws and regulations, preventing pollution, and protecting, conserving, optimizing, and sustaining our natural & cultural resources for our Soldiers, civilians, Families, neighbors, and communities. The Stewart-Hunter Environmental Division is comprised of three branches: Prevention & Compliance, Fish & Wildlife, and Forestry while coordinating and providing oversight to the Installation’s integrated Sustainability Management System. The SMS’s current focus areas are Threatened and Endangered Species Management, Solid Waste Management, and Water Conservation. Stewart-Hunter is the first Department of Defense Keep America Beautiful affiliate and has a robust recycling program supporting the installation and our surrounding counties.
Major program areas that make up the Prevention & Compliance Branch are air, drinking water, storm-water, and wastewater quality, remediation, landfill compliance, recycling, spill response, pollution prevention, wetlands, and cultural resources. The branch oversees operational and administrative compliance of the numerous Stewart-Hunter state permitted facilities and its vast wetland and cultural resources while promoting pollution prevention and sustainability.
Fort Stewart’s Natural Resource Management Branch (Forestry program) is one of the largest timber-producing and prescribed burning programs in DoD. Fort Stewart is also home to the largest remaining acreage of the longleaf pine-wiregrass ecosystem in Georgia. Notable accomplishments include support of the training mission and improvement of the training environment, reforestation, endangered species habitat enhancement, and commercial forestry, which helps fund the program and support the local economy. The success of Fort Stewart’s forestry program can be measured by the installation’s immensely valuable timber resources and excellent training environment.
The Fish and Wildlife Management Program is responsible for managing all fish and wildlife species and their habitats on Fort Stewart, conducting wildlife population inventories, and reviewing all proposed actions for potential impacts to fish, wildlife and their habitat. Fort Stewart is home to six wildlife species that are protected by the Endangered Species Act. These species are the red-cockaded woodpecker, bald eagle, eastern indigo snake, Flatwoods salamander, wood stork and Shortnose sturgeon. The Installation carries out conservation programs to help recover these species while continuing to support the training mission.

Housing Division

The DPW Housing Division provides quality residential communities and total housing services for Soldiers, Families, and other qualified residents at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.

The Stewart-Hunter Housing Division is comprised of three branches: Residential Communities Initiative Branch (legislated in FY 1996), Housing Services Office Branch and Single Soldier Housing Branch. Visit the housing Web site at www.stewart.army.mil/dpw/housing/housing.asp.
The RCI Branch provides oversight to the Private Partner and ensures compliance with the general ideals of the Community Development and Management Plan and Army guidance on Privatized Housing. The program encompasses a 50-year partnership (a Limited Liability Company) between the government and a private sector partner. RCI partnerships are complex, large-scale, long-term real estate transactions that require extensive management oversight of on-going relationships between development, operations, and financial components, interactions at multiple stakeholder levels, as well as government and military process challenges. RCI asset management responsibilities are divided into four separate core oversight functions: Construction and Development, Operations and Maintenance, Financial Management, and Legal and Governance.
On Nov. 1, 2003, Balfour Beatty Communities (BBC) L.L.C. (formerly known as GMH Military Housing LLC) assumed responsibility for on-post housing at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. BBC manages housing and provides housing services to all on-post residents. BBC builds, maintains, renovates, leases and replaces existing homes, while providing Community Management services. They also provide additional amenities such as new playgrounds, jogging routes, walking areas, and community centers.
The Housing Services Office provides on and off- post housing services/assistance to military personnel and DoD Civilians at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The Fort Stewart HSO office is located in the Soldier Service Center, building 253 at (912) 767-7852/2127. Those personnel assigned to Hunter Army Airfield may also visit the HSO office located in building 1287 at (912) 315-5327. Information on HSO services is available on the Fort Stewart Web site www.stewart.army.mil/dpw/housing/rcifsgaoffpost.asp.
The HSO office has an array of services available to help Soldiers and Families get settled into off-post housing, referred to on-post such as up-to-date rental listings, rental and sales booklets and maps of the surrounding area. Information can also be obtained on local schools, churches, shopping centers, hotels and motels. Personnel are briefed on the local area and are provided with a list of any housing currently placed on off limits. This office also mediates off-post housing complaints pertaining to leases, maintenance and discrimination. Personnel are cautioned not to enter into negotiations for purchase or rental of off-post housing prior to processing through the HSO office. Upon departure from Fort Stewart, you can get relocation information on your next duty station.
In June 2009, Single Soldier Housing Branch implemented the First Sergeant’s Barracks Initiative. SSH manages over 3,700 barracks rooms at Fort Stewart and over 1,500 barracks rooms at Hunter Army Airfield. SSH Provides on-post housing services for unaccompanied personnel assigned to Stewart-Hunter. The Core functions include Management and Assignment / Termination of Rooms, Monitoring Facility Sustainment, Monitoring Furnishings Management, Maintaining Customer Service and Providing Surge Capacity for Deployment / Redeployment.
SSH provides assistance to single Soldiers in the rank of sergeant and below living on-post in many ways, including room assignment and termination; submitting and tracking work order requests; maintaining inventory/condition of barracks equipment, furnishings, and appliances; and ensuring Soldiers are responsible for damaged or missing items. Also, the SSH relieves the unit commanders of the day-to-day responsibilities of barracks management by maintaining and providing a current manifest of their single Soldiers and key control for all SSH facilities.
Other SSH responsibilities include preparing barracks utilization and other reports for submission to higher headquarters. These reports are used locally to monitor the utilization of barracks buildings and to measure the impact of SSH operations on the Soldiers.
Single Soldier Housing has a major role in the barracks preparations for deployment and redeployment. The Battle Handover process directs the joint inspection of every barracks room prior to deployment and redeployment. This deployment inspection identifies the maintenance and repair that must be completed prior to occupying that barracks again upon redeployment. The redeployment ensures the barracks maintenance is complete and the rooms are ready for occupancy when the Soldiers redeploy. SSH performs mass barracks room terminations prior to deployment and mass barracks room assignments upon redeployment. These processes ensure good customer service to the units and single Soldiers.

Master Planning Division

Real Property Master Plan Branch provides the direction for the orderly development and sustainment of the real property assets of the installation. The planning process follows the professional practice of community planning and provides the installation with the vision and framework for long and short-term real property development. The Real Property Master Plan consists of five components: the Long Range Component, the Installation Design Guide, the Capital Investment Strategy, the Short Range Component and the RPMP Digest.
The RPMP Digest is the over-arching component of the RPMP and guides the scope of the plan. The Long Range Component contains focused, detailed planning strategies that guide the long-range use of land and facilities on the installation. It is a broad-based area analysis of the entire installation project over a period of 20 to 50 years. The Installation Design Guide prescribes the urban design and character of the installation. The Capital Investment Strategy contains the holistic set of actions needed to create the Real Property Vision. It focuses on strategies to integrate current demands with long-term facility needs, based on assessments of excesses and deficits. The Short Range Component marks the transition from planning to programming and provides a list of projects planned over the next five to seven years.
This process allows the Army and the installation to prioritize its limited resources; optimizes mission accomplishment through the best use of land, facilities and infrastructure; balance development and the need for environmental stewardship; provide strategies for anti-terrorism and critical infrastructure protection, reduce manpower and resources, and base realignment and closures; and it informs design and construction agents on the desired type of development and encourages development in the most suitable areas.

Operations and Maintenance Division

The Operations and Maintenance Division is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of Fort Stewart and Hunter Airfield installation non-Family facilities, grounds, and utilities to include barracks, company and battalion headquarters, library, dining facilities, gyms, motor pools, storage buildings, parking lots, streetlights, storm water drainage, roads, grass cutting, refuse collection and the utilities systems. The division is divided into two branches, Operations and Contract management.
The Operations Branch provides the quality assurance of the contracted OM work force. Tsay/Ferguson and Williams is the current contractor and has responsibility for maintaining and operating the Installations’ facilities. A service order desk is operated to allow Installation’s personnel to call in requests for maintenance or repair of their facilities. A service order is for repair of existing facilities that can be done for less than $2,000 and under 40 hours. If the work requested is new work or will exceed these limits, an Individual Job Order must be initiated. The service order desk will determine if an IJO is needed based on discussion with the caller.
The Service Order Desk telephone numbers are Fort Stewart at 767-2883 and Hunter at 303-3733. The Contract Management Branch is responsible for oversight of the DPW’s service contracts such as port-o-lets, excavation permits, traffic signal, railroad repairs, electrical privatization and utility purchases. An excavation permit is needed prior to digging on the installations. The phone numbers for excavation permits information is 767-6239 or 767-5505. Many training evolutions require the installation of port-o-lets to meet the users’ needs. For information, the number is 767-3479. The exterior electrical utility system, i.e. power lines, transformers, and streetlights is the responsibility of Canoochee Electric Membership Cooperative. To report an emergency or an outage, the number is 459-1112.

On-post Schools

Students living on Fort Stewart attend one of three kindergarten through 6th schools, depending on where they live: Brittin Elementary School, Diamond Elementary School or Kessler Elementary School.

Students living on Fort Stewart in grades 7 through 12 attend Liberty County middle and high schools in Hinesville. For more information, call (912) 876-2161. Fort Stewart students living off-post in counties other than Liberty attend school in the county of their residence. Students living on Hunter Army Airfield attend Savannah/Chatham County schools as there are no on-post schools on Hunter. Hunter students living off-post attend schools in the county of their residence.

School Liaison Program:
The School Liaison Office, located at Fort Stewart in building 622, room 130, works to identify and resolve systemic educational issues that impact Families of Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Soldiers. By fostering cooperation between local schools and the military community, their office assists school-age children of Army parents with education-related issues and providing them with the information they need to succeed academically. Army Continuing Education System:

ACES provides education assistance worldwide to benefit active duty, Guard and Reserve Soldiers, Family Members, government employees and retirees. The mission is to improve the combat readiness of the total Army by planning, resourcing, and implementing educational programs and services to support professional and personal development. ACES vigorously promotes lifelong learning opportunities to sharpen the competitive edge of the Army by serving as leaders in providing and managing quality self-development programs and services.
A number of educational opportunities are offered at both Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The Army Education Centers are located at building 100 (Stewart) and building 1290 (Hunter). The contact numbers are 767-8331 (Stewart) and 315-5667 (Hunter).

Expanded Area of Responsibility:
Miami, MacDill, & Fort Buchanan

As of May 1, 2005, the U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Stewart, Ga., assumed educational responsibility for all Soldiers assigned to Southern Command; USAG, Miami; Central Command; Special Operations Command; and the remaining counties in southern Florida. Fort Stewart also provides remote educational support to Soldiers stationed at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. The primary educational services provided will consist of educational counseling, GoArmyEd, and testing services to Soldiers.
Fort Stewart ACES will provide the first three services remotely. Miami ACES will provide testing on-site in Miami. ADD: Testing is provided at MacDill and Fort Buchanan through the other services co-located with Army. For Educational Counseling, send email to stewcounselor@conus.army.mil. Multi-Use Learning Facility

The Multi-use Learning Facility/Army Learning Center is a technology-based resource providing necessary training, education, and support materials for Soldiers to develop/sustain job-related and leadership skills. Programs are designed to meet unit and individual needs. Facilitators are available to assist with a variety of military and academic education services. The MLF/ALC was designed for quick computer reference and on-line study; a number of programs can be accessed. Some of these include Army e-Leaning (SkillPort), Army Institute for Professional Development (used to access Army Correspondence courses), Reimer Digital Library, CDs, electronic media publications, regulations in paper format, Credentialing Opportunities On-Line (Certification and Licensing), Army Degree Builders (degrees to match MOS’s), Army Personnel Testing, and many others.
Complete your distance-learning training/requirements at our 60-station location at Fort Stewart and 25-station location at Hunter. Operating hours are daytime only. Regarding e-Learning, all Army Civilian employees active duty Soldiers, National Guardsmen and Army Reservists have access to over 1,500 information technology, business, leadership and personal development courses online provided by SkillPort. A few of the features include state-of-the-art courses, online subject-matter experts, on-line meeting rooms, chat rooms, and a large technical library of articles.

GoArmyEd

This exciting distance-learning program is an Army education initiative designed to offer eligible Soldiers the opportunity to work toward a college degree or certificate anytime, anywhere. GoArmyEd offers access to online certificate and degree programs offered by regionally and nationally accredited colleges and universities.
Technology support to link students to the world’s largest online education portal – GoArmyEd.com – is specifically designed for Soldiers. GoArmyEd pays 100 percent TA for tuition up to the established semester hour cap and tuition ceiling in addition to fees and books, academic advisement, library resources, and administrative and technical support.
GoArmyEd’s participating schools offering undergraduate certificates, associate, or bachelor’s degrees must also be members of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Army Degrees and agree to accept a common application, limit academic residency requirements, accept two-way guaranteed credit transferability among members institutions, and agree to provide maximum award of credit for prior learning and nontraditional learning (e.g., testing, distance learning, certification, and licensure).

Soldier Development Programs

Programs are available to provide academic instruction in job-related skills. These programs support readiness/training and are available to Soldiers at no cost. Lifetime Library, an automated basic skills program, provides instruction in Math, English and Reading to enhance job skills, school prerequisites, academic competencies needed for job proficiency, and preparation for advanced training. Other areas include high school completion, English as a Second Language, mission-related language, and MOS improvement training.

Leader Development Programs

These courses provide education opportunities for Soldiers so they may enhance their leadership abilities using technology-based, critical thinking, and decision-making skills required to fully transform the Army. They also allow Soldiers to undertake self-development activities that lead to certification, licensure or degrees.

Reading and Math Prep

Using the Test of Adult Basic Education, English, Reading, and Math skills are measured. Assistance is given to prepare leaders for their upcoming training and leadership roles.

NCO Leader Self-Development
Career Models

These models provide Soldiers with a clear road map for professional growth as NCOs. Career Models focus on broad, general recommendations that enhance the nine NCO Leadership Skills described in FM 6-22 and FM 7-22.7. The models contain recommended self-development activities. They can include Army correspondence, post-secondary courses, computer-based instruction and professional readings.

Post-Secondary Programs

Post-secondary programs are academic, technical, and occupational courses of study leading to a credential. These include NCO LEAD and SOCAD-2 and SOCAD-4 (associate and bachelor degrees) programs. Courses that are part of these programs will be arranged sequentially to allow timely completion of the entire program while you are at Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield or allow you to finish by distance learning when you leave.
Programs offered on-post were designed to meet the needs of the military population, as shown from a needs assessment conducted by the Education Services Officer. Programs must be from schools that are members of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Army Degree program. These colleges work in tandem to form worldwide networks in which one college can accept credits from other members. This guarantees that Army students and their adult Family Members can continue toward completion of their degrees, even though the Army may transfer them several times. SOCAD Career Degrees are associate’s and bachelor’s degrees that are directly related to Soldiers’ military occupational specialties, provided by civilian institutions that award maximum credit for related military training and occupational work experience, and provide the distance learning course options to fill any remaining knowledge gaps toward requirements. Civilians can also receive credit for their previous work experience, national testing programs, industry/occupational certification and licensure exams, as well as distance learning from other accredited schools. By retaining the SOCAD agreement issued by the school, a Soldier or Family Member can complete his or her degree requirements after leaving Stewart or Hunter.
Tuition assistance for active duty Soldiers can be accessed through the GoArmyEd portal, which is online, anytime for classroom, distance learning and GoArmyEd online college courses. To take classes not listed in the course schedule, Soldiers must first ensure their college has a school profile listed in GoArmyEd. Once that has been verified, the Soldier will follow the directions starting on page 26 of the Course Enrollment Guide (located under My Virtual Ed Center > Enroll in a course). The Web site to access the portal is: www.GoArmyEd.com. TA for active duty Soldiers and cannot exceed $4,500 per fiscal year or $250 per semester hour.
On-post schools include Central Texas College, Columbia College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Savannah Technical College and Webster University. These schools do not require the ACT, SAT, or GRE. However, math and English placement tests may be required for specific subjects. Non-affiliated civilians interested in attending a college program on-post are welcome.

Webster University’s Graduate Programs are at nine Army Officer Advanced Course locations. Credit is given for officer professional development courses. The Webster MBA can be completed on-line.
All of the on-post schools also have most courses taught through distance learning. Some degrees can be earned through distance learning entirely, offering a great alternative for Soldiers and their Families.

Commissioning/Warrant Officer Programs

Enlisted soldiers can apply for some Army Commissioning/Warrant Officer Programs. These include Officer Candidate School, West Point Prep, Green to Gold; Physicians Assistant, and many Warrant Officer Programs, i.e. Aviation, Quartermaster. The Army Education Counselors are available to offer information.

Testing

Army Personnel Testing
The Army Personnel Testing program encompasses standardized tests to determine eligibility for specialized training and to support the Army’s personnel selection and classification process, which includes language proficiency testing. Some of the tests include the Test of Adult Basic Education, Armed Forces Classification Test, Defense Language Proficiency Test and the Army Flight Aptitude Selection Test.

Academic Testing
Academic testing is provided through the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support. The Education Counselor can help match these tests with students’ goals. The counselor can also schedule appointments for these tests and provide information on how to prepare for them. These tests include admissions testing (ACT and SAT), interest inventories, and credit-by-examination. The CBEs include the College Level Examination Program, DANTES Subject Standardized Tests and Excelsior College Exams. Certification and licensure exams are available through Pearson Vue.

Distance Learning Testing
Distance learning courses often require that some of the tests be proctored by personnel authorized by the student’s college or university. Columbia College provides this service to students in need of a testing proctor.

Credentialing Opportunities On-Line

A Soldier wishing to pursue a civilian career pertaining to his or her MOS should inquire about licensing and certification that may be required for that civilian career field. Military training and experience could prepare Soldiers for civilian credentials and jobs, as well as provide promotion points for earning those credentials. The tests can be given at the Education Center. Certification fees can be reimbursed through the Montgomery G. I. Bill.
Family Members, government employees and retirees should also check with an Education Counselor regarding licensing and certification.

Troops to Teachers

Military retirees, active duty personnel who have at least six years of service, and select Reserve members with at least six years toward retirement may be eligible to participate in the program. Depending on the type of courses one is interested in teaching, different educational requirements are necessary. Financial assistance may be given, depending on the availability of funds, in the form of a $5,000 stipend or $10,000 bonus depending on the selection of the school. Financial Aid

Army Tuition Assistance
Army Tuition Assistance is for active duty Soldiers only. It can be used to provide financial aid for voluntary, off-duty education programs from regionally and nationally accredited institutions that support personal and professional self-development goals. TA has been standardized across most of the services and will fund up to 100 percent of the tuition costs for full or part time education, to include lab, computer, and other fees. Current Army policy states that the amount of TA received cannot exceed $250.00 per semester hour or $4,500.00 per fiscal year. Tuition assistance Soldiers can be accessed through the GoArmyEd portal, which is online, anytime for classroom, distance learning and GoArmyEd online college courses. To take classes not listed in the GoArmyEd Integrated Course Schedule, Soldiers must complete the TA reimbursement process. The Web site to access the portal is www.GoArmyEd.com.

Counseling

Army Education Counselors are available to provide guidance and monitor progress in a variety of areas. Some of these areas include military and civilian goal setting, education requirements, instruction, information on types of course delivery, funding options, applications and evaluations of credit and developing plans of action. From high school completion to doctoral level guidance, an ACES Education Counselor will assist clients in achieving their educational/career goals. Counselors can also discuss active duty tuition assistance, via the GoArmyEd portal, veteran’s education benefits and other types of financial aid.

Veterans’ Administration

Educational Benefits
Army Education Counselors are trained in advising servicemembers about the Veterans’ Administration Educational Benefits. Education Counselors can discuss details about the Veterans Educational Assistance Program, Montgomery G.I. Bill, Post 9/11 GI Bill, Loan Repayment Program and the Army College Fund.
Whether staying in or leaving the Army, Education Counselors can advise you of your options, to include the Tuition Assistance Top-Up program, PL 106-419 (adding $600 to existing MGIB), and using the MGIB on active duty. As part of the mandatory separation counseling, Education Counselors will discuss all education benefits.

Other Financial Aid

Financing your education may be possible through many different sources. Education Counselors have information on PELL, HOPE grants, scholarships and loans. They can assist in the search for funding.

Family Members

Family Members are eligible for many of the same opportunities as the servicemember and are encouraged to visit an Education Counselor to explore these options. Individual needs can be addressed with various on-post or on-line programs. Basic Skill Courses ease the transition into college if there is a separation from high school to college entry. English as a Second Language and GED courses are available through the Savannah Technical College / Liberty County Adult Education program. Internet computers and study material for CLEP/DSST tests are available in the Army Learning Center, room 230.
Servicemember Opportunity Colleges allow Family Members the protection of a SOCAD degree program. This agreement locks the student into degree completion with the particular college by meeting the 25 percent residency (home college courses) requirement. If you begin a degree with one of our on-post colleges, complete 25 percent of the total degree requirement in their classroom or online courses, then you can complete the remaining 75 percent through CLEP/DSST testing or courses with other accredited colleges at your new location. Spouses to Teachers

Spouses of active duty or Reserve military members who are interested in teaching are encouraged to participate in the Spouse to Teacher project. The program provides information and counseling concerning teacher certification requirements, routes to certification, employment potential, financial assistance and assistance with employment searches. Costs of licensure/certification may be reimbursed to eligible spouses. The Spouse to Teacher program is currently available through Military OneSource Center.

Workforce Training & Development Program

Training and development opportunities for the Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield workforce are managed by the Installation Training & Development Specialist located in the Army Education Center, building 100. The goal of workforce training and development is to provide a technically competent, high-performance workforce to support current and future missions. A wide variety of programs and services are available to assist managers, supervisors, and employees with all aspects of training and development of civilian and military members of the workforce.
Advice and assistance with course and program development, planning, and evaluation are provided. Career counseling tools and resources are available to both employees and supervisors. Training and educational opportunities abound through a host of sources and delivery methods. Course catalogs and schedules may be accessed for training and development needs that span the full spectrum of skills including leadership, supervisory, legal, medical, engineering, administrative, analysis, specialty, technical, clerical, trades and crafts, as well as basic and remedial skills development. A variety of financial programs are also available to assist with meeting both personal and organizational learning objectives.
Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation:
The Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation includes a wide range of activities and facilities for Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The mission of DFMWR is to increase the effectiveness of the Army by assisting commanders and maintain the morale, mental and physical fitness, and to promote social well-being of military personnel, their Families and other authorized users by providing a wide range of social, recreational and entertainment programs. This is accomplished by promoting maximum participation in planned and diversified activities. FMWR activities include sports, outdoor recreation, auto crafts centers, special events, fitness centers clubs, recreation center, bingo, bowling centers, leisure travel, libraries, pools, youth centers, child development centers, Family and Soldier recreation areas and golf courses.
The DFMWR office is located on William H. Wilson Avenue, building 621. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday; closed on holidays. Office phone is number is 767-3319.

Outdoor Recreation

The Outdoor Recreation Program has the largest, most diversified program in this area. It is a sporting paradise. The Equipment Checkout Center provides a variety of outdoor recreation equipment for checkout at a nominal fee. Equipment includes but is not limited to fishing/ski boats, canoes, kayaks, campers, tents, camping equipment, outdoor party equipment, tables, chairs, dunk tank, inflatables and a super cooker. Equipment is checked out on a 24-hour basis. Individuals renting any type of boat, canoe, or kayak must complete a boating safety course prior to checkout.
The Pass and Permit Office controls access to the 280,000 acres. Fishing and hunting requires a Georgia State Fishing/Hunting license and a post permit, both of which are available at the Pass and Permit Office. The 23 managed ponds, 33 river landings and 55 miles of scenic Georgia rivers offer fishermen prime fishing from mid-February until mid-October. Fish species include largemouth bass, bluegill sunfish, red-ear sunfish, redbreast sunfish, channel catfish, black crappie, hybrid striped bass and others. Hunting season opens for small game in mid-August. The big game season for whitetail deer and feral hogs begins in mid-September and continues through the first part of January. Spring gobbler season opens mid-March runs through May.
There are 230,000 acres for hunting. Whitetail deer, feral hog, mourning dove, quail, rabbit, squirrel, wild turkeys and other game can be found in these areas. Holbrook Recreation Area at Fort Stewart provides a pet boarding facility, skeet and trap range, equipment rental center, paintball, several picnic shelters and a campground nestled in the southern pines. These areas are open year round.
Reservations are recommended; however, they are not required. The area is open to all travelers with priority given to active duty Families and retirees. The campground has water and electrical hookups on each site with a central sewage dump station, bathhouse and laundry room. Reservations can be made by stopping by or calling the Equipment Checkout Center at Holbrook Pond, 435-8205.
The Rifle/Pistol/Archery Ranges at Fort Stewart are located off Highway 144 East. Shooters must sign in at the Pass and Permit Office prior to shooting on the range. Individuals using the range will act as range officers. Two licensed drivers must be on the range at all times and a POV must be available for emergency transportation. The Recreational Vehicle Storage Lot at Fort Stewart and Hunter Airfield is available for military Families needing a secure area to store their recreational vehicles. This safe and secure area is fenced lighted and monitored 24 hours a day.

Lotts Island Recreation Area

Located just inside the Rio Gate entrance of Hunter Army Airfield offers six picnic shelters for group functions. The area also has a fishing pier accessible 24 hours a day and provides much enjoyment for Soldiers and their Family Members. Opportunity for salt-water fishing is available here on the Forest River. This river has easy access to the ocean and the coastal waterways. A license and permit are required for fishing in the salt waters of the Forest River. The Lotts Island Area has docking space for military families to dock their boats long term. Lotts Island has a boat ramp as well as a boat lift. The fees are nominal. The dock provides water and electrical hookups. Sign in for the private berthing area at the Equipment Rental office.

Holbrook Recreation

Holbrook Recreation Area is located on Hwy 144 East with campground and boat checkout area. Georgia Boater’s Safety Information can be found at www.boat-ed.com or attend classes on Fort Stewart or Hunter Army Airfield.

Skeet Range

The Skeet and Trap Range at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield offers open shooting. The range also caters to small groups or units for additional shooting times. Groups need only to call and make a reservation for the range at Equipment Checkout Center. Hunter Army Airfield’s Skeet and Trap Range is located on Perimeter Road, near the Equipment Checkout Center, 315-9564.
Operating hours are Thursday, 3 – 8 p.m.; Friday, 4 – 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. Fort Stewart range is located in the Holbrook Pond Recreation Area off Hwy 144E. Skeet and Trap Club members can access the range for extended hours. Cost is $4 per round.

Pass & Permit

The Pass & Permit Office includes the following information, permits and services: hunting/fishing/recreation permits, Georgia hunting/fishing license, fishing bait, rifle/pistol and archery range. You must possess Hunters Safety Class Certificate to hunt on Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield. Information is available on the www.stewart.army.mil Web site. Fort Stewart office is located on Hwy 144 East. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; federal holidays, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and training holidays, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Archery/Rifle-Pistol Range functions on the same hours of operation. For more information, call 435-8061 or 435-8033. Hunter AAR Office is located in building 1286. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Leisure Activities Center

The Leisure Activities Center is located in building 443 just north of Burger King, next to Corkan Swimming Pool. Services available include attraction tickets, cruise information and booking, local trips, vacation planning, rental of canopies, dunking booth, children’s moon walk, chairs/tables and serving dishes. Fee information and ticket pricing can be obtained at www.stewartmwr.com. Please remember, ticket prices are subject to change without notice. Army Community Service

Army Community Service can help with Family needs running the gamut from working with exceptional Family Member needs to financial counseling. Fort Stewart Army Community Service is located in building 86 on 201 Lindquist Road. The Hunter Army Airfield branch office is located in building 1286 at 171 Haley Avenue. ACS provides traditional Family support programs and services. These include the Family Readiness Center, the Consumer Affairs and Financial Assistance Program, Relocation Assistance Program, Exceptional Family Member Program, Family Member Employment Assistance Program, Family Advocacy Program, Army Emergency Relief, Installation Volunteer/Family Readiness Program, Army Family Team Building, Mobilization Deployment Readiness Program and the Outreach Program. Additionally, ACS staffers can provide information and referral to the appropriate agency if ACS is unable to assist.
The ACS Lending Closet has essential household items such as pots, pans, irons, ironing boards, futons and portable cribs. Items may be borrowed for up to 30 days during a permanent change of station, whether coming or going. No-interest loans or grants through AER are available to military Families with emergency financial needs who qualify based on the AER regulation. To apply, visit the ACS Center.
Bicultural Families are assisted with translations and support groups, which meet once a month. Support for waiting Families is also available. The FAP is a joint program between ACS and Winn Army Community Hospital. ACS coordinates community resources, and provides preventive services. Workshops are offered in stress relief, personal and parenting effectiveness, and more.
Commanders, Soldiers, civilian employees and Family Members are educated in the prevention and identification of Family violence and neglect in order to assist prevention. WACH provides treatment and therapy for Families involved in, or at risk for, Family violence or neglect. ACS provides the link between exceptional Family Members and military and civilian support and medical care resources.

Child, Youth and School Services - FMWR

Child, Youth and School Services provides a seamless delivery service for all youth ages 0-18 years of age through a variety of programs and services that promote growth and development. Programs and services include Child Liaison, Education, and Outreach Services, School Liaison Services, Child Development Centers, School Age Services, Youth Services, Family Child Care, and Youth Sports. Child Development Centers. Child Development Centers serve children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Programs include full and part day care, pre-school, Georgia Pre-Kindergarten, and hourly care.
Family Child Care serves children from 6 weeks to 12 years old and provides, full and part day care, hourly care, extended hours care and emergency care. FCC homes can be found both on and off the installation. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are served daily and must be in compliance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture nutritional requirements. Fort Stewart has three Child Development Centers, building 403, 56 Steele Ave.; building 442, Gulick Ave.; and building 475 on Lindquist Ave. Facility hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday - Friday. CDCs are closed on weekends and all federal holidays. At Hunter Army Airfield, the Child Development Center is located in building 1284, Middleground Rd. Hours of operation are the same as Fort Stewart.
Unique to Fort Stewart is a Pre-Kindergarten Center, which houses the Georgia Pre-K program and before and after school care for kindergartners. The center is located in building 7097 Austin Rd. Hours of operation are the same as the Child Development Center. Breakfast and snack are served at the center. Pre-Kindergarten follows the same schedule as the local school system. A lottery is conducted every April for parents to get their children enrolled in slots. All children entering Pre-Kindergarten must be four years old by Sept. 1.
At Hunter Army Airfield, the Child Development Center houses both the Georgia Pre-K Program and before and after school care for kindergartners. The hourly care program provides childcare for parents who need service on an intermittent basis. Childcare arrangements are made by reservation. FCC provides full time, part time, extended care, special needs, and hourly care, depending on needs. Military spouses who live on and off the installation are trained to care for children in their own quarters. This is an alternative to center-based program care for parents who want a small group, home-type atmosphere. It also provides an option for the single parent or dual military couples needed extended care during field exercises or deployment.
CYSS Central Registration is located in building 443, Lindquist Rd. at Fort Stewart, (912) 767-2312 and building 1286, Haley Ave. at Hunter Army Airfield (912) 315-5425. All children must have a complete registration packet, available at the one-stop registration offices, which includes an up-to-date immunization record. All children enrolling in sports programs must have a current physical before they can participate. Children/Youth may also register for instructional programs such as dance, piano, Tae Kwon Do, Gymnastics and more at the Central Registration Offices. A School Liaison Officer is located at each Central Registration Office. The School Liaison officer at Fort Stewart can be reached at (912) 767-6533 and (912) 315-6586 at Hunter Army Airfield. The SLO is there to assist Families and children when transitioning from one school system to another by providing information on local schools, assisting parents with special education needs/issues, and providing transition support.
As of Oct. 1, 03, all Soldiers accompanied by Family Members, ages 0-18 years are required to in and out process through the CYSS Central Registration Office and the SLO. School Age Services – FMWR

SAS offers a wide variety of activities for youth ages 6-12. The School Age Services program at Fort Stewart is housed in building 6571, Davis Ave. across from Diamond Elementary School and at building 1289, Haley Ave., Hunter Army Airfield. Before and after school care, winter, spring, and summer camps, and hourly care are offered at this facility. Hours of operation are Mon - Fri, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The center is closed on weekends and federal holidays.
Programming includes 4-H and Boys and Girls Clubs of America clubs and activities. The center has a homework center and computer lab with instructor for youth attending the program. This program also provides for a small charge instructional classes like, dance, tutoring, etc.

Middle School/Teen Program – FMWR

Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield have a free Middle School/Teen Program for youth 12-15 years of age. Older teens (ages 16-18) participate in the teen program. The program at Fort Stewart is housed in the Fort Stewart Youth Center, building 7338, Austin Rd. This is a 3-year-old, state-of-the-art facility with a gymnasium, multi-purpose room, homework/computer center, Cyber Café, and game rooms. A variety of programs are offered such as Teen Lock-Ins with other installations, Teen Council, Character Counts!, 4-H and Boys and Girls Clubs of America programs.
The youth are actively involved in the community through youth center programs and projects such as Habitat for Humanity and Adopt-A-Gate. At Hunter Army Airfield, the program is located in building 1289, Haley Ave. Both Centers are open 7 days a week. Youth Sports - FMWR

Youth sports programs include basketball, cheerleading, spring soccer, track & field, baseball, softball, T-Ball, football, and fall soccer. The Fort Stewart Youth Sports Program is conducted with emphasis on safety, participation, fun and good sportsmanship. All teams are coached by volunteer coaches who must be certified under the National Youth Sports Coaches Association before coaching. All participants will be furnished with a basic uniform, evaluated, assigned to a team and guaranteed a specific amount of playing time.
Team sports and fitness/nutrition programs are designed to provide the opportunity to participate and develop fundamental skills and grow in an atmosphere of sportsmanship, citizenship and team work. Fees for team and individual sports are $25/one child then $23 for each addition child. Discounts are offered for volunteer coaches with children participating in any CYSS sport in the same season (same sport). The first child is free and each additional child is half price. Club System - FMWR
The club system consists of two clubs, Club Stewart at Fort Stewart and Hunter Club at Hunter Army Airfield. All clubs at both Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield are open to all military ranks, civilian grades and the general public, and no club dues are charged. The business activities office is located in building 405 on Hero Road, Fort Stewart. The telephone number is 368-2212. The club system offers professional catering and party planning services at either club. The system also can cater to off-premise locations.

Club Stewart - FMWR
Club Stewart is located near the Family housing area of Fort Stewart at the intersection of Hero Road and Coe Avenue. It offers a full range of catering and social activities to include private party rooms, bar service, and full banquet catering. The club offers a popular express lunch program, Monday through Friday. Club Stewart features a 550-seat ballroom, which can be divided into several smaller party rooms, and it has four lounges and the Palmetto Dining Room. Call to plan all your parties. Hunter Club – FMWR

Rocky’s Zone – FMWR Soldier
Recreation Center

Rocky’s Zone located in building 703 is a game and sports Soldier recreation facility that consists of a “Big Screen TV-Theatre” with surround-sound. The “Main Event” features free pool, free wireless, video gaming, and snack bar.
Rocky’s Bar, co-located with Rocky’s Zone, is open on Friday and Saturday nights and is open to DoD ID Cardholders and their civilian guests. The phone number is 767-8715.

Corkan Family Recreation- FMWR

Corkan Family Recreation offers “Affordable Family Fun” to all military families whether active or retired, young or old. Corkan Family Recreation offers bowling, roller skating, indoor Playland, miniature golf and water spray park to entice and entertain any member of the Family. With its “affordable pricing,” Corkan Family Recreation is Fort Stewart’s Backyard Playground that is great for birthday parties, Family get-togethers, or unit functions. Stewart Lanes Bowling Center offers “Family-oriented bowling atmosphere” with its 12 lane Glo-Bowl facility. Stewart Lanes is located in Building 450, 439 Lindquist Rd. Corkan Family Fun Center houses indoor roller skating, Laser Tag, 3D Mountain Room, and a snack bar. The facility caters to young adults as well as the young at heart.
Cypress Sam’s Treehouse is a state of the art indoor play land facility with four levels of interactive fun, seven ball blasters and a volcano that spills safe nerf balls out for hours of enjoyment. Cypress Sam’s also has a toddler area so the little ones can have just as much fun.
Cypress Creek Adventure Golf is an 18-hole adventure miniature golf course with water and sand traps and the atmosphere to remind you of the south. “The Springs” Waterpark is an eleven feature spray park that offers tumbling buckets, super soaker and other fun features to beat the summer heat.

Golf - FMWR

Two excellent 18-hole golf courses, one each at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, are available and open 7 days a week year round. A PGA professional manages these facilities and offer lessons and free clinics. Rental golf clubs, golf cars and pull carts are available. The Hunter Golf Club features a Southern Colonial clubhouse with the amenities of a private country club. Hunter Golf Club hosts a collegiate golf tournament annually in March. Both golf courses have paved golf car trails for year round use, along with driving ranges, putting and chipping greens that allow alternate practice areas where golfers can hone their skills. Current Director of Golf won the 1999 Award for Excellence in Army Golf Courses. Fort Stewart’s course has been renamed Taylors Creek Golf Course. Bowling – FMWR

Bowling is entertainment for the entire Family, with open bowling and bumper bowling for little ones. Marne Lanes and Stewart Lanes are located at Fort Stewart and Hunter Lanes at Hunter Army Airfield. Full service snack bar service is available at all three locations. A well stocked pro shop and drilling service is available at Marne Lanes. Stewart Lanes is a Family bowling center and operates as part of Corkan Family Recreation Center. Leisure Travel Services are available to active and retire military, their Families, civilian employees and installation contractors. Ticket and reservation information regarding air and rail travel, as well as ship vacation cruises are featured in this office. We offer tickets to Disney World and Universal, Six Flags, Sea World and Busch Gardens, which offer promotions and discounts.

Library - FMWR

The Fort Stewart Library, in building 411 on Lindquist Avenue supports the recreational, educational and mission need of the military community. The library has over 55,000 books and subscribes to 250 magazines and newspapers from across the country. The library is fully automated and has full access to the Internet and online databases. Many magazines and newspapers are available for research. The library has educational video cassettes and DVDs, books-on-tape, many foreign language tapes, and CDs. Computers with word processing are available for personal use in the Library. The library also has a copy / fax machine. There is a separate children’s room at the library. The library not only has best sellers and popular fiction and nonfiction books, it also has many research tools with a librarian available to provide assistance. If the library doesn’t have what you need, it can be borrowed by using the Interlibrary Loan Service.
The library supports Soldiers going to the field or on maneuvers with boxes of paperbacks. Each unit is authorized to receive paperback books when conducting field training for over 72 hours. Auto Crafts - FMWR

Both Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield have their own auto craft centers. Fort Stewart Auto Craft Shop is located in building 1503 and has 28 indoor bays. The Hunter Army Airfield Auto Craft Shop has 14 indoor bay centers located in building 1288. Engine analysis, steam cleaning, welding, tire changing, and many other aspects of vehicle repair can be accomplished at either of the two facilities. Various classes are scheduled monthly. Both have rotating special classes for novice patrons only. A trained professional staff is on hand to help the patron learn the skills necessary to help solve problems that may arise with their vehicles. A tool room is available for patron checkouts with new computer manual systems updated quarterly.
The Stewart Libby Auto Crafts Center also has an auto parts store stocked with a variety of fast moving parts. Items not on hand can be ordered with a minimal waiting period. Fort Stewart Libby Auto also has a paint booth and body shop.

Sports Program - FMWR

The Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Sports program is one of the most comprehensive in the southeast region. The program is divided into the following sections: intramural sports, physical fitness, and aquatics. The sports offices are located at 78 Lindquist Rd., Fort Stewart, at 767-8238 and at the Hunter Sports Complex, 1460 Duncan Ave., Hunter Army Airfield, at 315-4160. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday; closed on Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Intramural Sports- FMWR

The intramural program consists of the following sports: basketball, volleyball, flag football, softball, track and field, golf, bowling, tennis, soccer, and racquetball. League and tournament competition is offered in all sports. Persons wishing to participate can enter the company level league, 35 and older battalion league, female battalion league, or the Family Member’s league. At the conclusion of each sport an installation champion is determined by a tournament.

Services at Fort Stewart Special events are also an important part of the intramural sports program. The following special events are offered: power lifting tournaments, bodybuilding tournaments, bi-annual 5K and 10K races, basketball tournaments, softball tournaments, flag football tournaments, volleyball tournaments, free-throw throwing contests, and three-on three basketball tournament. If the Sports Office does not offer a sport a patron is interested in, the Sports Office will add that sport or put patrons in contact with someone off-post who offers the sport.

Physical Fitness – FMWR

The physical fitness section is composed of two physical fitness centers at Fort Stewart and one physical fitness center at Hunter. Each center is equipped with modern weight machines, free weights, cardio-vascular machines, basketball courts, handball and racquetball courts, saunas, showers, dressing rooms and sporting equipment which may be checked out with the proper ID. The aquatics program includes lap swimming, drown-proofing, remedial PT, water aerobics, water-pregnancy aerobics, and open swimming. The program has two outdoor and one indoor pool at Fort Stewart and one outdoor pool and one indoor pool at Hunter. The outdoor pools are seasonal pools opening on Memorial Day and closing on Labor Day. The indoor pools are opened year-round.

Auto Re-sale Lot – FMWR

Located on Bundy Avenue, an auto re-sale lot is available to display cars, motorcycles and sometimes even boats and recreation vehicles for sale by military and DoD Civilian owners who are leaving the area or just want to sell their vehicle. The Hunter Auto Re-sale Lot, located on Mitchell Boulevard, between Barrow and Crawford offers the same services.

Veterinary Services

Veterinary services are available on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The Veterinary clinics offer annual exams, a variety of vaccinations and tests, de-worming, micro-chipping and sick-call appointments. Treatment at both facilities is by appointment only.
To schedule an appointment, call 767-4194 or 435-6633 (Winn Appointment Line). The Fort Stewart clinic, located at 461 W. Bultman Ave., is open 8 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Hunter clinic, located at 1030 Flying Fortress Rd., is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday. The Fort Stewart clinic also offers a pet adoption center. All animals adopted through the clinic will have the first set of vaccines, microchip and heartworm test or Feluk/FIV test. Dental Care at Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield is for active duty Soldiers. All non-active duty personnel are to seek dental care from the private sector. The government and DoD provide co-paid TRICARE Dental Insurance to assist in receiving dental care. Enrollment for active duty family members is available online through www.TRICAREdentalprogram.com, www.ucci.com, mailing to United Concordia/TDP, P.O. Box 827583, Philadelphia, Pa. 19182-7583, or fax to 1-888-734-1944. TRICARE can be contacted at 1-800-866-8499. Enrollment for retirees and their families should enroll through the Delta Dental Plan network at www.deltadental.com or call 1-800-521-2651.
• Dental emergencies for active duty Soldiers: During duty hours, the Soldier should report to their assigned dental clinic for minor dental emergencies. Soldiers with extensive trauma should report to the Winn Army Community Hospital Emergency Room. After normal duty hours, the Soldier should report to Winn Army Community Hospital Emergency Department. The Emergency Department staff will evaluate the problem and contact the Dental Officer on Duty if indicated to render appropriate dental treatment. A dentist and an oral maxillofacial surgeon are available on an “on-call” basis through the Emergency Department 24 hours a day.
• Dental emergencies for non-active duty Family Members: In the event of a Family Member or retiree dental emergency, individuals should seek treatment from their private dentist or network provider. In the case of extreme emergencies, the Fort Stewart Dental Activity can see non-active duty Family Members for true dental “Emergencies Only.” This is strictly to assist the individual until their private dentist can take over the emergency treatment. This “Emergency Only” care will normally entail suturing lacerations, re-implanting avulsed teeth, or simple palliative treatment (such as providing pain medications, antibiotics, or place a temporary filling). Those seeking dental emergency treatment should report to the Winn Army Community Hospital Emergency Department and will receive a screening to determine whether the on call dentists will be contacted. Note: dental emergency treatment is not for dental sick call.
• Sick Call: Active duty Soldiers are to report to their assigned Dental Clinic during normal duty hours for Dental Sick Call or the next duty day if problems occur after normal duty hours. Dental Sick Call for Non-Active Duty personnel will be with the private sector.
• Selecting a private dentist to receive dental care can be a difficult task. It is recommended to select a dentist who will provide emergency care to the Family Members whether it is during regular office hours or after office hours. It is recommended to ask friends where they receive their dental care; look at the TRICARE list of providers; check with the Georgia Dental Society for their list of members www.georgiadentalsociety.org.

Medical Services Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield

Winn Army Community Hospital, Hawks Troop Medical Command, and Tuttle Army Health Clinic make up Fort Stewart’s Medical Activity. Beneficiary population includes active duty Soldiers, retired military personnel and all eligible Family Members within an 11 county enrollment area, including Liberty, Long, Evans, Tattnall, Wayne, McIntosh, Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Bryan and Chatham counties.

Medical services include Family Practice, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Social Work services, Behavioral Medicine services, Nutrition, Internal Medicine, Optometry, Radiology, Laboratory and Pharmacy. True Emergencies - Winn’s Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for true emergencies. A medical emergency may be a threat to life, limb, or sight, contractions in a pregnant woman, or other severe symptoms including pain.

While information on civil service positions can be provided at the CPAC, it is highly recommended that applicants use the employment Web sites to obtain the most current vacancy information and application instructions. The American Red Cross Fort Stewart Station is located in building 623, suites 106-112. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Emergency communications assistance after hours is available by calling 1-877-272-7337. In order to initiate a message, callers should have available the full name, rank, social security number/date of birth and military unit of the servicemember who will be receiving the message. Other services the American Red Cross offers include counseling; emergency after hour financial assistance and volunteer opportunities.
