A new Navy Lodge, overlooking Corpus Christi Bay, provides temporary quarters at NAS Corpus Christi for military personnel and their dependents, reservists, Department of Defense employees, and retired military personnel. With 52 units, each suite includes air conditioning, kitchenette and private bath, and family accommodations. It’s within easy walking distance to the Consolidated Bay Club, a fishing pier, marina, Navy Exchange and commissary.
Reservations are accepted for all eligible personnel on an as-received basis. Once a reservation is made, it is confirmed and you cannot be bumped. Military personnel being assigned to a South Texas base on Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders—or on Temporary Duty—can make reservations at any time. Other eligible personnel can made reservations either 60 days or 30 days in advance of arrival, depending on status.

The Combined Bachelor Housing Office at Gateway Inn offers quality living environments and services to our customers that will allow you to appreciate and enjoy your time here.
Transient room accommodations include private rooms, suites, and VIP quarters. Amenities include cable TV, DVD/VCR combos, telephone, clock radio, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, dinnerware and cooking sets. Suites include two-burner stoves. The quarters also include a fitness room, sauna, game room, and conference room.
The Consolidated Base Housing Office is located within walking distance to the Corpus Christi Bay Club and Navy Lodge. It is a short drive to the Navy Exchange, commissary, Gulf Winds Golf Course, and Navy-Army Federal Credit Union.
Check-in for persons with reservations is after 2 p.m. Check-in for Space-Available personnel is after 6 p.m. Check-out time is 11 a.m. Reservations for travelers on Navy funded orders can be made by calling the Navy Housing Central Reservations office at 1-800-576-9327.

Navy families moving to Corpus Christi are encouraged to contact the Housing Welcome Center as soon as orders are received. The Center will assist you in locating suitable and affordable housing in the local area.
Housing Referral maintains non-discriminatory listings for the local Public Private Venture (PPV) units along with community rentals and sales, as well as short-term rentals. Incoming personnel are urged to contact the Housing Referral counselor prior to arrival to obtain general information on housing and the local community. It is strongly recommended that personnel not send advance deposits or sign advance leases without viewing the property first.
The Navy Housing Welcome Center and the Public Private Venture Leasing Office are co-located in Building 3600 at the corner of Dimmit Drive
and E Street. The Welcome Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday – Friday; while the management office for on-base private housing is open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Management of on-base George Herbert Walker Bush Family Housing can be reached by calling (361) 937-0190.
With the exception of the two Flag Officer housing units, all family housing at NAS Corpus Christi was privatized as part of the Navy’s South Texas Public Private Venture Project in February 2002.
There are now 272 on-base units for pay grades E-1 through O-6. Included are 157 newly constructed two, three, and four-bedroom units built as part of the project, and 100 pre-existing two-bedroom units and 15 Senior Officer Quarters which were transferred to the partnership. Twelve of the Senior Officer Quarters are vacant, pending a decision on whether to demolish or renovate. With the exception of the Senior Officer Quarters and a small number of units designated for Field Grade (O-4/O-5) officers, all Public Private Venture units are mixed grade housing.
Housing at NAS Corpus Christi is located in three on-base neighborhoods - Coastal Cay, Safe Harbor, and Laguna Shores. There are 136 two-bedroom, 70 three-bedroom, and 51 four-bedroom units within those areas. Floor plans in the Coastal Cay and Safe Harbor neighborhoods range from 1,488 square feet for two-bedroom townhouses to 1,798 square feet for four-bedroom single family homes. The 100 Laguna Shores units are two-bedroom floor plans ranging from 950 to 980 square feet. Pets are allowed in all homes with certain restrictions and deposits.
Unit amenities include frost-free refrigerator w/icemaker, range, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave oven, washer/dryer connections, ceiling fans, and mini-blinds. (Note for Laguna Shores units - no microwave oven provided; not all refrigerators have icemakers.) Flooring types includes ceramic tile, vinyl, and carpet. Units have central air/heating systems and are pre-wired for telephone and cable. Handicap units are available. A large Community Center, located in Building 3600, is available for use by residents - reservations must be made through the Leasing Office.
Military residents of PPV Housing also have use of nearby base facilities including the swimming pool, gym and fitness centers, bowling alley, Navy Exchange and Commissary, ball fields and playgrounds.
Eligible servicemembers with families who reside in on-base PPV Housing pay rent based on the servicemembers’ Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) which covers rent and utilities. BAH will later be adjusted by the PPV partner to include an “average” utility allowance. Residents will then become responsible for payment of their actual utility costs.
The day-to-day management, maintenance, and operations of South Texas Military Family (PPV) Housing are the responsibility of the PPV Property Management/Owner Manager. Residents should contact the private management office when they have any maintenance requests or issues/concerns regarding their occupancy in on-base housing.
The Navy Welcome Center maintains a referral list of military personnel wanting to live in on-base PPV housing. Active-duty military with families have top priority, followed by active-duty reserve personnel with families. If excess housing exists, other categories of personnel will be eligible.
Basic eligibility for housing for active-duty personnel with families is defined as those servicemembers with accompanying dependents. Accompanying dependents are considered to be those dependents that may be expected to reside with the sponsor for nine consecutive months or more each year. Dependents must also meet the definition of dependents as identified in the DoD Financial Management Regulation, Vol. 7a. Questions regarding eligibility of dependents, with regards to housing, can be forwarded to the staff at the Navy Housing Welcome Center.
Applications for Housing consist of:
(1) DD1746 - Application for Assignment to Housing which has been completed and signed by the active-duty member;
(2) a copy of the active-duty member’s original orders; and
(3) Certification of Dependents document (examples of dependent certification documents include NAVPERS 1070/603 Record of Emergency Data/Dependency Application (Page 2); a NAVCOMPT 3072 Dependency Action Status; or a DD1172 Application for Uniformed Services Identification Card (DEERS Enrollment).
Applications may be made at any time after receipt of PCS orders and up to 30 days after reporting to new permanent duty station. Control date will normally be date of detachment from last PCS. Advance application will not affect the control date. If application has not been made within 30 days of reporting, the control date will be date of application. To obtain entry on the list, applicants must confirm their application by contacting the Navy Housing office on their detaching date or no later than 30 days after reporting to new Personnel Detachment.
If on-base Public Private Venture Housing is not available upon arrival, the service member and accompanying family may request referral assistance for off-base community housing and remain on the waiting list for on-base housing. Provided that certain criteria is met, the applicant may be authorized a local move at government expense from private sector housing to on-base PPV housing. For details on eligibility, please contact the local Navy Housing Welcome Center office.

Storage and delivery of household goods is arranged by the Personal Property Shipping Office located in Bldg. 10 on Ocean Drive, directly across from Hangar 42. Persons moving to South Texas are encouraged to contact this office by email or phone as soon as possible after arriving in the area to check the status on your inbound household goods shipment. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
