FAMILY AND MWR PROGRAMS

The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation encompasses a wide range of activities and programs designed to improve the quality of life for its active duty military personnel and their families. The Directorate includes Army Community Service, Business Programs, Child, Youth and School Services, Community Recreation, and NAF Support Services. Programs offered by Family and MWR include such activities as family programs, libraries, sports, fitness, clubs, golf, and bowling.
All Family and MWR programs are open to military personnel and their family members. Most programs are also open to Department of Defense civilian employees and their family members. Generally speaking, Fort Knox’s Family and MWR facilities serve everyone.

DINING

The Fiddlers’ Green at the Fort Knox Leaders Club is proud to offer daily blue plate specials Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and a special brunch omelet station every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition to daily blue plate specials, you may enjoy a light soup, salad, or a specialty sandwich at lunch time. Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., the Fiddlers’ Green offers casual dining which includes fresh salads, a selection of sliders, burgers and sandwiches, plus delicious entrees including prime rib, schnitzel, and our signature Jack Daniel’s steak.
Let the Rocker II rock your appetite with a variety of tasty menu selections available for you to enjoy. Lunch options are available Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Short order items are also offered Tuesday - Sunday nights from 6 p.m. until closing. Menu items include delicious hot wings, hot dogs, tacos, fried catfish, and pork chops. With so many selections, deciding what to enjoy is a tough, but rewarding decision. The Lindsey Grill, located inside the Lindsey Golf Course Club House, can help you start the day off right with a great selection of breakfast menu items including various breakfast sandwiches, a stuffed breakfast burrito, or a delicious breakfast combo platter with your choice of ham, sausage, or bacon. For lunch and dinner, Lindsey Grill offers a delicious selection of freshly prepared meals including a toasted Lindsey club sandwich, a grilled 1/2 lb. cheeseburger, and a cheesy Philly steak sandwich. Lindsey Grill proudly brews Starbucks brand coffee, available anytime of the day.
The Strike Zone, inside Houston Bowling Center, offers something to satisfy everyone’s appetite. From burgers and hot dogs, to pizza and salads, its tasty and affordable items are sure to be a hit with the whole family.
Java Café, located at 62 Spearhead Division Ave., proudly brews Starbucks coffee and offers various pastries, sandwiches and salads. Free Wi-Fi is available with a comfortable seating area. We look forward to serving you.

The HRCoE Café is a quick service, grab-and-go cafeteria adjacent to the LTG Timothy J. Maude Complex. Open to everyone, this delicious dining option offers a great rotating weekly menu which features a variety of healthy and delectable choices.

RECREATION and LEISURE


AUTOMOTIVE CRAFT SHOP
The Fort Knox Automotive Crafts Center is a 42-bay facility that provides car repair services as well as a do-it-yourself facility. The center offers quick oil change service and the latest in equipment, manuals, and tools. Auto Crafts is located at Building 1054 Spearhead Division Ave. Telephone: (502) 624-5338.

BARR LIBRARY
Barr Library serves the educational, research, and recreational needs of the Fort Knox community by providing a diverse array of materials and services. The library is located at 62 W. Spearhead Division Ave, Building 400. Telephone: (502) 624-4636.
Children’s programming includes weekly preschool story-and-craft programs from September through May and a fun-filled Summer Reading Program. A Teen Program is also offered for youth ages 11 – 17. Special programs and events for the entire family are also planned throughout the year.
The library provides 24/7 services through its online catalog with access to more than 2,000 electronic books, links to AKO based research databases, and access to the TumbleBook Library, a collection of more than 150 animated, talking picture books in a format that kids love. State-of-the-art computer workstations provide customers with e-mail and Internet access, Microsoft Office Suite applications software, and specialized research databases. Professional librarians are available to help find materials and assist with research. There is no charge for any of these programs or services.
Other services available to customers include Interlibrary Loan, typewriters, and a pay photocopier/computer printer.

BOWLING
Houston Bowling Center, located at 2385 Knox Street, is an award-winning facility which includes a pro shop, strike zone-themed eatery, interior smoking lounge, 24 state-of-the-art synthetic lanes, equipped with Brunswick A2 Pinsetters, Frameworx automatic scorers, on-lane televisions, and bumper bowling for small children.
League bowling is offered to individuals, couples, children, special needs, seniors, and organizations or groups of all ages and all levels of ability. The bowling center hosts special event bowling for organizations or groups and tournaments. Call to schedule special events or birthday bowling parties. EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT CENTER
The Outdoor Recreation Equipment Checkout Center carries a wide range of rental items including boats and campers, camping and sports equipment, lawn and garden tools, household tools, furniture, and picnic equipment. The center can also repair outboard motors on personally owned boats. The equipment checkout center is located at 4244 Park Road. Telephone: (502) 624-2314.

FALLS LANDING MINIATURE GOLF
Located adjacent to the Fort Knox Water Park, it offers a challenging 18-hole course surrounded by trickling streams, cascading waterfalls and realistic rock formations for people of all ages to enjoy. The natural setting of the course delivers a fun and relaxing way to spend the day with friends and family. A spacious patio area with chairs, tables and umbrellas is available for relaxing after an intense game on the Falls Landing course. Have an upcoming event to host? Hansen Gallery
Located in the Hansen Center, Hansen Gallery provides the Fort Knox community a variety of custom framing and self-help framing options. It also offers a complete awards and engraving center with state of the art laser engraving and sublimation capabilities for personalized coffee mugs, T-shirts, and more. GOLF
Lindsey Golf Course is open to the community. It offers a fully equipped golf shop and features a grill, snack bar, driving range operations and a teaching professional for individual, group or clinic lessons. Annual passes for single, family, and corporations are available. Your annual pass holder fee includes unlimited play, reserved tee times up to seven days in advance, exclusive tournaments, and other special programs. KILIANSKI SPORTS COMPLEX
The Kilianski Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art facility that features six softball fields, two combination soccer and football fields, automated pitching machines, and a one-mile running track that encircles the complex perimeter. Unit level intramural league play, post varsity sports games, and a variety of regional, national, and world level tournaments are conducted at the complex. The sports complex is located on Wilson Road, north of Eisenhower Ave.

LEISURE TRAVEL SERVICES
Complete one-stop travel and leisure travel services are available through Fort Knox Leisure Travel, located inside the Hansen Center.

MILITARY SPORTS PROGRAMS
Intramural competition is offered in flag football, volleyball, basketball, slow-pitch softball, coed softball, golf, bowling, and cross-country. Other special activities include racquetball, tennis, and indoor golf tournaments. The Military Sports Office is located in the Natcher Physical Fitness Center at 2341 Garry Owen Ave.

PATTON MUSEUM GIFT SHOP
The museum and gift shop are open 359 days of the year for year-round shopping. We are closed on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. NOTE: The gift shop will be closed the last day of each month to conduct end-of-month inventories - if the last day of the month falls on a Sunday, the gift shop will close on Monday.

French Shooting Club
French Shooting Club offers rifle, pistol, skeet, archery, sporting clay and trap shooting. A paintball facility is also located at the French Shooting Club. It is located at 9333 Main Range Road. Telephone: (502) 624-7754.

Stables
The Fort Knox Stable is a private self-caring boarding facility for privately owned horses. Applications for boarding are available through the Outdoor Recreation Office Equipment Checkout Center located in Building 4244 on Park Road. For additional information, please call (502) 624-2314.

SPORTS AND FITNESS
Gammon Physical Fitness Center is located at 850 Radio St., Building 850. The air conditioned facility features plasma televisions and the latest in Life Fitness, Nautilus, and PreCore exercise equipment. Men’s and women’s saunas, separate locker rooms, an indoor track, and two fitness classrooms complement the facility. A variety of fitness classes are available and include: Flex Step Aerobics, Step Sculpting, Abs Only, Cardio Sculpting, and Spinning. Telephone: (502) 624-4033.
Natcher Physical Fitness Center is located at 2341 Garry Owen Ave. The air conditioned facility features three full-sized basketball/volleyball courts, two racquetball courts, a co-ed weight and cardio room with a vast array of Life Fitness, Nautilus, and PreCore exercise equipment. The facility also offers six plasma televisions in the cardio room, a suspended running track, male and female shower facilities, and equipment checkout.
Otto Physical Fitness Center is located at 6591 Abel St. The facility features one main basketball court, two auxiliary basketball courts, volleyball courts, weight and physical fitness equipment, a sauna, male and female locker rooms, and equipment checkout.
Smith Physical Fitness Center is located at Building 5927 26th Cavalry Drive. Featured activities include: one main basketball court, two auxiliary basketball courts, four racquetball courts, one squash court, two volleyball courts, co-ed weight and physical fitness equipment, a sauna, male and female locker rooms, and equipment checkout.

SWIMMING
Fort Knox has some of the finest swimming facilities found anywhere, including the Anderson Indoor Aquatics Center, the Fort Knox Water Park, and the Gammon Indoor Pool.
The Anderson Aquatics Center, located in the Anderson Family Complex includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, a giant waterslide, lap swimming, a large patio, lessons, a cardiovascular fitness center, a party room, and large locker rooms.
The Water Park is located behind Devers Middle School & Teen Center and is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It includes two giant waterslides, a water challenge course, a zero-entry pool, a 25-meter pool, a large kid’s wading pool, and a large patio. Food service is also available. The Gammon Indoor Pool offers a limited schedule of open swimming and aquatic classes; however, the facility is primarily used for military training and swim meets.
There is a daily fee for Anderson and the Water Park, or family passes are available for the full year, the summer months, or non-summer months.

Hansen Thrift Store
The Hansen Thrift Store, located in the Hansen Center, is the perfect place to find slightly used furniture, clothing, baby strollers, books, toys, knickknacks, and dozens of other items. RECREATIONAL AREAS
Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area, on U.S. Highway 60W, offers a dining hall, 10 family cabins (with bathrooms), three group cabins, 53 recreational vehicle sites (35 have full hook-ups, 18 with just water and electric hookups), tent camping, and picnic areas. Carlson also has a 25-acre fishing lake stocked with bluegill, catfish, and bass. Telephone: (502) 624-4836. Fort Knox also has Keyes Park, Nininger Park. Douglas Lake, and Thorne Park. MWR Fencing Service
The Family and MWR Fencing Service located at 94 Dixie Ave. provides high quality, low cost fence installation for Soldiers living in Fort Knox family housing. The fencing may be rented on a long- or short-term basis. It may also be purchased (installed), for cash or 90 days same as cash.
