Naval Station Ingleside’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program provides quality, varied programs of wholesome and constructive recreation/leisure activities for Navy personnel and their family members. These programs contribute to the mental, physical, social, and educational enrichment of the participants. Activities include:

The Total Fitness Center offers opportunities to burn fat, shape and bulk up. The Nautilus/cardiovascular and free weight work out rooms are open daily. Other facilities include a track, soccer field, full indoor basketball court, three racquetball courts, two outdoor basketball courts, four tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, batting cage and softball fields. The athletic program includes a wide variety of activities such as football, racquetball, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and softball. Captain’s Cup tournaments are held throughout the year for team points.
To reserve a field, court or facility, contact the athletic director at (361) 776-4430. Equipment checkout is also available free of charge for in-facility use, with a minimal fee for off-site use. Equipment includes camping equipment, sports gear, and much more!
Lanes are available for lap swim in the 25-meter pool at all times. Various activities are offered throughout the year for all ages. For the youngsters, a kiddie pool is available. Call 776-4430 for more information.

The Fleet Recreation program offers recreational opportunities to the Fleet and ensures Sailors’ recreational needs are met even while they are underway. Programs are held aboard ship, as well as on and off base. Training is provided to individual ship MWR officers and custodians, so they can gain the most for their MWR dollars.

The Information, Tickets and Tours office offers tickets to amusement parks and sporting events in the Coastal Bend area as well as San Antonio, Austin and Houston. Join ITT for one of the many sightseeing or shopping trips. ITT can also plan your next cruise! For your convenience, ITT has two locations to serve you...a full-service location in the USO and a ticket hub located within the Total Fitness Center.

The Liberty Program provides activities for young unaccompanied Sailors. The programs are designed by fellow Sailors and include movie nights, weekend outings, amusement park trips, picnics, sporting events, and theme parties. The Liberty Lounge, co-located at the USO, is also equipped with Wi-Fi (bring your Wi-Fi enabled laptop or check out one of ours); pool tables, darts, video games, other entertainment and a snack bar. Look for these opportunities: Mall Runs to Corpus Christi; Paintball Trips; Bay Fishing Trips; Trips to San Antonio; Tuesday Night Tournaments; Pool Tournaments; Theme Nights; BBQ Night; Steak Night; Pizza Night; and more.
Naval Station Ingleside’s Marina program is now operating as an Outdoor Recreation/Gear Check-Out Program and shares the Vet Clinic building 333, located in the Fleet Parking Lot. The Outdoor Recreation program provides rental equipment such as fishing boats, pop-up trailers, self-contained trailers, and a variety of outdoor equipment. Hours of operation are Thursday through Monday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday through Monday. Call 776-5653, for more information.

Fun and exciting activities are developed throughout the year for our youth and teens (ages 6-17). Opportunities are available to engage in recreational programs that promote psychological, social and physical well-being. Join in the fun activities such as Drug Education for Youth (DEFY) and Open Rec. at Bridge Pointe Landing in Portland. Watch for news of upcoming and exciting events.
